SOCIAL

China’s tea-drinking culture has a history of thousands of years. With continuous development, the current tea culture has emerged.
Tea could once be the only drink choice. Now there are many choices. But tea is still a high-ranking thing.
In China, drinking tea together is like eating, drink, singing together.

There are some basic etiquette in tea drinking culture. But learning manners is a boring business. Therefore, the LI series of tea sets is committed to using design to promote young people to learn and use tea culture etiquette.

ETIQUETTES of DRINKING TEA

Seventy percent tea, thirty percent friendship.

Fingers salute. Accept the tea and salute with fingers.

Don't play with the cup to make a noise.

The spout of the teapot faces away from others.

ETIQUETTE 1

Etiquette of Drinking Tea

Seventy percent tea,
thirty percent friendship.

When using a traditional cup, the tea is not filled to the brim. Because the whole cup is hot when it's full. Leave some space so people can easily pick up the cup.

If the person pouring the tea fills it to the brim. It shows that he doesn't welcome this person. And want this person gone.

If the amount of water exceeds 70 percent. The internal structure will drain all the water out. The discharged water will flow into the tea tray below. Add the tea water to less than 70 percent, and people can use it.

ETIQUETTE 2

Etiquette of Drinking Tea

Fingers salute. Accept the tea and salute with fingers.

In ancient China, there were cumbersome rituals. Some etiquette was preserved at the tea table as a thank you. But it's simplified.

Simplified thanks, more convenient when using. Tap the desktop with different fingers depending on the situation. Because drinking tea together is for better and quieter communication. Finger salute is more convenient and quick, and does not interfere with mutual conversation.

After the young man poured tea for the elder, the elder tapped a finger on the table as a thank you. Instead of a nod.

After pouring tea among peers, the index and middle fingers are usually used. Two fingers. Instead of a two-handed salute.

After the elders pour tea to the younger generation, the young people usually make a fist and gently tap the table with all their fingers. In lieu of the highest manners.

ETIQUETTE 3

Etiquette of Drinking Tea

Don't play with the cup to make a noise.

This etiquette comes from the fact that noise can easily interfere with conversation at the tea table. The second reason is that traditional tea sets are made of ceramic. Playing with ceramics can easily cause breakage.

ETIQUETTE 4

Etiquette of Drinking Tea

The spout of the teapot faces away from others.

Turn the spout of the teapot towards the person. It also means to drive others away. It also gives people an uncomfortable feeling, such as hot water coming out of the spout, causing burns. And black holes always have an effect on people's attention, and also on communication at the tea table.

This design prevents users from easily pointing the spout towards others.

TASTE

For tea art, functional perfection is above all else.

Although my grandmother likes tea art, I have no idea how to do it.

I often need to drink tea with others. But young people seem to find it too complicated to join.
